English Alpine Ski Championships in Bormio, Italy

This year the English Alpine Ski Championships were like no other. Bormio is officially a Olympic Winter Games venue! It was an absolute privilege to race down the Stelvio slope in front of a still erect Olympic Stadium - what an experience!

The team were out in force in the opening parade where we witnessed our own torch-lighting ceremony!

In round 1 of the team parallel duals Excel U16 As were narrowly beaten by Apex A who went on to win the team event... We'll get them next time! ;)

Notable performances include:

Nat Stringer - 2nd Overall U16 English Champion, and 3rd U16 in the Slalom.

Lottie Williams - 3rd Brit in the U14 Giant Slalom.

Ted Mincher-Lockett - improved tremendously in slalom finishing 6th in the U14 Slalom.

Euan McGowan - 3rd and 4th YOB in the Giant Slalom and Slalom, respectively.

Lola Langman - 5th U12 (2nd YOB) in the Slalom, and 3rd YOB in Giant Slalom.

There were even more celebrations to be had with FIS coach Graham Dickson making it to his 30th Birthday! Thank you for all the years you've given to our team. We hope you enjoy your tickets to the Scottish Open this summer! Happy Birthday G!

Finally, a week in Bormio would not be complete without a trip to the hot springs and a trip to (or two) to the gelato shop!

Extreme Waterslide Contest for the Kids!

On the final weekend in March the Kids team took part in a ridiculously fun Waterslide Contest! The costumes were outrageous and runs were hilarious! Of note, there was no remorse for Jaydon, after recently came back after an awful knee dislocation at the Welsh Champs, crashed into the pool of water in style! Check out the full video on our instagram. It was lovely for the athletes and coaches to let their hair down from an intense week of training to remember the main reason why we do this sport... for the enjoyment and fun of it! We will definitely be back next year! Just check out the pictures here:
